According to a report from Bloomberg News, Attorney General Pam Bondi assured Apple that they can keep ByteDance-owned TikTok on its App Store for at least 75 more days.

For the second time, an executive order Friday to extend the Tiktok ban deadline has been signed by the U.S. President Donald Trump. TikTok will be banned in the U.S. unless China’s ByteDance sells its U.S. operations under a national security law signed by former President Joe Biden in April 2024.

Apple Officials received a letter from the U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said the company should act in accordance with Trump’s deadline extension and that it would not be penalized for hosting the platform, stated by the unnamed sources cited in the report.

Apple didn’t say anything about the situation.

Back in January, TikTok stopped working for U.S. users after the initial ban deadline. It wasn’t available on the App Store again until February 13, when Apple got a letter of assurance from Bondi and put it back up.

This happened not long after former President Trump announced a big hike in tariffs on China—up to 54%. Before the extra charges started on April 2, he said he might lower them a bit to help make a deal for ByteDance to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations.

In a March press conference, Trump said he might ease the tariffs slightly if it would help get the TikTok deal done, adding that while TikTok is big, the tariff revenue brings in even more.
